Online Marketing Inspiration - the Ezine Queen's workshop

Hello!

I know ....What is a fabulous woman like me doing online on a Saturday night! hee...I'm addicted, when I have a free night I'm working on my website, blog and upcoming workshops.  One source of my inspiration......the "Ezine Queen", Alexandria Brown!  Laura_the_joyful_entrepreneur_meets_ali_

I attended her first ever Blueprint for Online Success Workshop in Los Angeles. It was really awesome. She has a way of making things "easy, natural & fun" - just the way I like it! There were just 30 of us amazing online entrepreneurs and we had fun, got to know each other's businesses and see how easy it can be to grow our business online.  Watch for more from this Joyful Entrepreneur online....

Sexy Marketing

OK, I confess. I got hooked by the story on msn today. It wasn't just the Top 10 Most Beautiful Women thing, it was how this writer described his personal list....I was intrigued.  See below...

10 Sexy Movie Broads

Some women get better with age; others are born that way

By Eric Lundegaard
MSNBC Contributor

Sexy is balance. Cool and hot at the same time. Interest and disinterest. It's not passive but it's not in a hurry either. It seems to arrive at that moment in a woman's life when she's still hot but can no longer rely on it completely. Or maybe it arrives when a woman decides to take charge. Or maybe I just like women taking charge.

Sexy is personal, and so this list is personal. It's not like People magazine's list of "The 50 Most Beautiful People Who Are Successful This Year." (It's amazing how winning an Oscar can make somebody beautiful.) Some of these women are on every one of these lists, some are on none, but all make me happy to be a man.

Back to the commentary...

So, his list is interesting and he holds up to his promise for the most part, but really what I loved about this teaser to his article is his reference to balance....the sureness and the lightheartedness, the serious and the playful.

This connects to a thought I've been having about how great marketing is sexy!  You heard me!  Sexy!

Sexy is when you walk across the room and you can feel people watching you and you know they are watching you. You aren't showing off and you aren't self conscious - you are just being you.  You just feel good and it's pouring out from you - in your walk, in your smile, the dance in your eyes and the radiance from your being - some call it confidence. I call it "stepping into your knowing". (This is a female and a male thing!)

As a professional service/independent consultant/small business owner - you are marketing yourself! So, what's the sexy marketing thing about?  It's when you know your value. It's when you KNOW what you have to offer is really fabulous.  It  helps to have all your materials look good, to have a business card that you are delighted to share, and when you are thrilled to send them to your website because you love it and it really communicates who you are.  AND, you don't have to have all those pieces perfected. Just like feeling sexy isn't about your incredible outfit, makeup and physique, although it can help.  It's about you KNOWING that what you offer is valuable and that no one else in the world will do it quite like you! There is no question about that.

The only question is ....if YOU are interested in the potential client!?!
Hmmm, provocative...

OK, I know you are dying to check out the list...here's the link - I look forward to you visiting again!

See the list.

Delightfully,
Laura

"Be the Change" in the Suburbs

Jimmy_jones_1 I just have to smile when I see my SUV in the parking lot at Target!

After decorating the truck for my son's Allstar baseball tournament, (writing things like "Go #18! You're Awesome!" ), I found a new use for the window paints! I wanted to have some more fun! As you can see I've taken to writing inspirational quotes on my truck. Hey, quotes are everywhere we look, why not here?

It has changed my perspective on my otherwise uninteresting SUV truck!  Now, I get inspired when I spot it in the parking lot.

And, when I am sitting at a stoplight I often wonder what the couple behind me are thinking about the "window bumper sticker"?  My hope is that I have somehow stirred up an interesting conversation!

Of course, this does make me very conscientious of how I'm driving!

Three cheers to more interesting "rear views"!

Airplane Talk

Have you ever noticed how when you are traveling on a plane other travelers will always ask…."Are you going to Ft. Lauderdale (L. A., Atlanta, Minot - North Dakota, Paris, etc..) for WORK or PLEASURE?

Hmmm, interesting assumption, tricky answer...…Could it possibly be both? Do we dare to dream that BIG??

A friend of mine asked me recently that question after I returned from a trip.  And then hearing my perplexed silence she laughed and rephrased her question, and said, "OK, knowing you…Did you go to Ft.Lauderdale for PLAY OR for PLAYFUL WORK?

Ahhh,  That’s more like it…

Delightfully Back from Summer Vacations and Travels,

Laura
