Stepping into the Dream
When dreams become real.....
So what follows is an update of what is happening for me personally. Why share my personal life with you? First, I have a huge value around authentic connection, so it's important for me to share with you what is going on in my life and I want to know what to celebrate in yours. And, after 6 years of being an entrepreneur (2nd time around)I know without a doubt, that what happens in your life informs your business and vice versa. You can't get away from it. So - yes as my love life is flourishing so is my business! :)
Here is a photo of my Life Partner Extraordinaire (LPE), Marc, and I on June 2nd after our Romantic Legal Ceremony. This is what "Dreams Coming True" looks like. Real. Natural. Beautiful. Having a vision that takes your breath away.
For those of you who don't know, Marc is from England, yes, he is British and has a sexy, gorgeous accent. (well, I might as well share as the women always ask!) It's been quite a process of us coming together here in Atlanta, USA. We've navigated the move, job transitions, leaving a country and family, integrating space together, creative officing and the first part of the immigration process. My biggest piece of advice for a long distance relationship (In addition to some recommendations about long distance calling, Skype, IM'g and web cams), is to focus on the vision. What is it that you want to create together? Whenever we focused on the how or the problems it became hard. It was easier to be in the flow when focusing on the vision.
This picture fis from the first ceremony - it's actually the first of two ceremonies. This was the Romantic Legal Ceremony. the one that needed to happen soon after his arrival in order to get appropriate documents into the immigration department to further expediate Marc being able to work and travel freely, as well as, to join us in holy matrimony :).
In August, we have a second ceremony planned, Spiritual Family and Friends Ceremony to bring together our boys (we both have 2 sons) and our families and friends to bless and celebrate this new marriage and family. It will also be small and intimate, overlooking the Chatahoochee River (southern enough for you?) and have such magical qualities as my friend Wendy and her drumming sisters from the Conundrums calling people through the woods to gather for the celebration.
This is a time of celebration, so I ask you, dear reader and friend, "What are you celebrating?" Please share with me as I'm in a celebratory mood all summer. Champagne is flowing and toasts are being made all around the the abundance surrounding us.
This is a time of connection, so I ask you, "Who are you aching to connect with?" This process has brought to light how much I connect with people over the internet and via phone. I've been yearning to have more in person connection. Ah, how you business mirrors your life - always!
This is a time of authentic expression, so I ask you, "What is it your heart is yearning to say to another?"
We have had the wonderful creativity and spirituality of Robbie Houcek. She helped us to co-create a wonderfully authentic and creative ceremony.
