Passion, Juggling, Beatles

Go ahead and click on this video below...allow yourself to sit back and watch the whole thing.  Indulge....

Chris Bliss

Now, I don't know if this guy makes a lot of money at this, or if he rates his life as a 10 but gosh, he sure does seem passionate and alive!  He sure does seem like he must love what he does.

I'm imagining him thinking about this idea, and then actually learning how, practicing, failure, trying again.....talk about a commitment!

I bet when he shares with some people what he does they think he's crazy....he sure made me (and my family) smile....

With a smiling heart,

How Much Joy Can You Stand? free book!

I went to my computer last Friday morning thinking about the chapter I am writing for a book about women entrepreneurs.  My chapter is about joy and business. Throughout the week I have been reading things to inspire me and having conversations to help me clarify my thoughts about this Howmuchjoy_cvr_3d_2 idea.  Twice during the week I had this urge that perhaps I should buy this book about joy that a collegue offers. The book is called "How much joy can you stand?" and is written by Suzanne Falter Barnes. Now, I've admired her ezine and programs for years and, in fact, the book has been around for about six years and yet for some reason just never got around to ordering her book.

Well, I didn't listen to my intuition and instead listened to the niggling little voice in the shadow that said things like..."Oh, Laura, you can do it alone" and "Laura, all your thoughts have to be totally original and what if you find out they aren't?"  And this was the biggee, "What if what you want to write is similiar to her ideas, then what will you do?" Anyway, I didn't order the book. I hate it when I get into scarcity thinking.

The universe has a funny sense of humor. As I booted up the computer and started downloading the messages in the early morning, the first message I notice says "How Much Joy Can You Stand?" Get your free book today. I couldn't believe my eyes.

Yep, Suzanne believing in total abundance like she does, decided to share her whole book in ebook form with anyone and everyone.  So, of course, I took the hint and downloaded the book and thoroughly enjoyed perusing over the weekend.

What I did I learn?  I admire what a great example of coming from abundance that Suzanne offered. I am sure she will reach more people with her generosity and add lots more on her ezine list. Plus she reinforces the reputation that she has of being so generous - and everyone loves to be around positive generous people!

I also reconnected with my belief that the more people who believe in the joy model, well, the better off the world is!  I also reinforced my belief that the world is full of abundance for everyone! I got that we both believe in joy and yet we have different voices and personalities and there is room in this world for everyone. Reading her book, gave me the reinforcement I wanted that I know (and sometimes forget) that there is a need for my unique voice too.

So, in the spirit of sharing abundance, (and since I can't offer my own book - yet!), I encourage you to download this really great book from Suzanne Falter Barnes from her website: How Much Joy - free ebook

With joy and abundance,

Laura

Resources for a Vibrant Life

I've mentioned this one before and I'm going to mention it again.  I just love Dr. Christine Northrup's ezine. Each month she offers a great solution for women to support us in being more joyful and vibrant in our lives.

This month she has a feature article about flower essences. While I don't know very much about flower essences she does recommend a product called Rescue Remedy.  You put a few drops on your tongue to help relieve stress and promote calmness and clarity.  I bought it about a year ago and haven't used it much. The article inspired me to pull it out - especially with all that's going on in my household and business this summer!

I am actually writing a chapter for publication in a book about women entrepreneurs.  It's my first official publishing endeavor so I've had my share moments of questioning my value, what was I thinking, and the good 'ole....I have nothing to say. I'm proud to say I've called upon support and used my best tools to shift those beliefs to ones that are more supportive and expansive!

Reading this article and reminding me about Rescue Remedy felt very synchronistic!  I've been amazed at how grounded I've felt the last couple of days while using it. I'm adding it to my personal toolkit!

I mentioned it to my english hubby since flower essences were originally created in Englnad and he said his mom (mum) has used it for years and swears by it.  So there you go....another resource to help us love the lives we live!

Here's the link to her newsletter for more details:

PS:  I got my Rescue Remedy at GNC store here in the states. It's pretty convenient.

With much grounded essence,

Turning off the Mind Chatter

"Mom, my mind is talking to me all the time!  I can hear it talking. It won't be quiet!"  This is from my 5 year old son. Wow, I think...how early it starts.  Mind chatter.

It has taken me to 40+ to start deprogramming that mind chatter. To realize that I don't have to listen to all that my mind tells me. Don't get me wrong, my mind has a very valuable job.  And I love to feed my mind all sorts of things to churn - books, magazines, interesting conversations, etc...

And, then there are times when you just want to shut it off! The chatter. The incessant discussion Stressed_biz_guy about what is wrong, what isn't happening, what I could do better, how I could look better, I could be making more money, cooking more healthy - heck, cooking period, etc...the chatter rarely stops.

I've talked about the power of silence before. I have often found it difficult to just sit and quiet my mind...meditate if you will. Actually that's not totally true. There are times when I love to sit and relax and find my mind relaxing with me. It's the other times when I am struggling to turn it off. When I sit in mediatation with such purpose that I MUST be quiet - surprise, surprise, it doesn't work too well. I find myself getting antsy about the next blog entry to write, or an errand to add to the list, making a mental note to organize my books, my desk...anything but to sit and be.

Why the big fuss about mediation?  I know that it truly promotes better health, more creativity in the long run, a greater connection to myself and the universe. I think my biggest reason is for patience.  As an entrepreneur, mother and creative type I just have tons of ideas and possibilities. Learning patience with myself, the process and with others is invaluable to the way I want to live my life.

I have found a wonderful tool to help quiet my mind and increase my relaxation.  It's a CD series through Holosync .  They are powerful, not cheap, and worth it. I know many coaches who swear by these CD's.  Using inaudible tones underneath rain and singing bowls they stimulate your brain waves so that you experience deeper levels of relaxation.  I have found that when I'm listening to the CD's each night that I am more patient and compassionate the next day.

I will warn you that they send lots of literature and tons (yes, tons) of testimonials.  Much of it is helpful and much of it is, well, just too much.  If you can wade through it, you'll see that there is a lot of valuable information and that underneath the sales material they just want to make sure you are having a good experience and that it's valuable for you.  And, with all that, I highly recommend it.  It's worth the investment.

I'm on my second level now and I'm still impressed.  And, by the way, they have a great ezine called appropriately enough, Mind Chatter. Make sure you sign up!

May you enjoy greater relaxation this summer~
