Are You Ready for 2010?

The trick-or-treaters are ready to come out, and turkeys are starting to appear at the grocery store. Along with the impending holidays, it’s also that time when we start thinking about ideas for next year. What’s possible? What dreams do you have for your business and for your life? Is this the year where they all really take off?

I want to share with you my 3 biggest tips for starting off the new year in a powerful way to truly manifest your dreams.

1. Focus on your 3 biggest intentions. Make a list of all the things you would like to be, see, experience, manifest, and have in the next year. Then select the 3 most important ones. So if nothing else happened but these 3, then you’d just giggle with the delight of success! Post these 3 bigintentions everywhere so you keep them front and center. Keep them alive!

2. NOW is the time to carve out time to create and plan 2010. Don’t wait until after the holidays and realize January is already upon you. Right now – open up your calendar and plan time for a creative retreat for yourself, plan your mastermind time, and really commit to your 3 big intentions. You’ll start off the new year with powerful focus, flow and energy!

3. Decide on what support you need to be successful. The time of pushing hard, going at it alone, being determined to MAKE things happen is over. The price on our physical, mental and spiritual selves is too steep. Find a like-minded, like-spirited mastermind group to support you and champion your 3 big intentions and work with a successful mentor coach to help you truly create your 3 big intentions.

The energy of collaboration, relationship, nurturing and mentorship will move you forward in more powerful ways that are filled with more ease, grace and celebration!

Your homework:

1. Right now – open your calendar and plan your creative time in 2009 and your 2010 vision.

2. Make a list of possible intentions for 2010. Pick your top 3 that have the most energy and excitement for you (and yes, there may be some fear….as long as there is excitement, too). These are the BIG 3!

3. Decide to harness the power of masterminding – find your tribe of support and commitment. You’ll feel really confident going into the new year knowing you have the love, support, inspiration and motivation from your mentor and a mastermind group. Who is your mentor and mastermind support for 2010?

How Does A Business Goddess Make Decisions?

I went through life much like my family and the community around me – not valuing the feminine strengths.

Every day in your business, you are required to make decisions. Some are small decisions that you can do without needing a lot of deep thought, like ordering supplies, buying an information product or deciding your priorities for the day.

However, every so often you need to make decisions that you know are really going to change the direction for you or your business. Decisions about a new direction in your brand, joining a high-end coaching program, or designing a new premium service. These aren’t choices you want to make lightly, as they will impact your own growth and the growth and direction of your business.

So often we were taught when we were young or even in college that the only way to make big decisions was by writing a pro and con list. I don’t know about you, but whenever I try doing that, I end up still sitting there wondering what to do. There’s more to making a decision than the logical issues, and there’s more than one way to go about making important decisions.

Here are my top 5 favorite ways to make decisions in business:

1. Imagine that you are the goddess of your business. As a goddess, you are grounded and tuned in with your inner wisdom. See yourself making decisions with ease, trust and confidence. Let yourself stand as you would as a goddess, tilt your head, adjust your posture and fully assume the stance of a goddess. From this place, ask the question and let the decision come to you with trust and grace.

2. Go for a walk. This is an easy way to shift your energy by moving your body. Tell yourself that you will know the right decision when you walk back in the door. Then let go and just enjoy your walk.

3. Sleep on it. I like to write to my guides before I go to sleep, especially when there is something I want to know but can’t seem to articulate. I’ll write the question and hand it over to the universe. I’m amazed in the morning how quickly the answer comes to me – and with such clarity!

4. Talk to a supportive business girlfriend. We get energy when we connect with others. That energy can give us new perspectives, new ideas, and insights.

5. Talk to your coach. Mentor coaches are great at this because they hold your higher vision and don’t let you forget it. So when you are making big decisions, your coach will hold the big dream and coach you in that direction of what you really want.

This week – Keep this list on hand and when you have a big decision to make, use one of these techniques or support structures. Be sure to drop me an email and let me know how it works for you!

How Does She Do It? - Teleseries - October 16th - 18th

LaurasSon Join me as I am interviewed along with 16 other successful women so you can get a peek behind the curtain of our businesses. This series is invaluable to any woman who is comparing herself to others and feeling frustrated, doubtful or just plain wondering if other women know something you don’t.

This thought-provoking interview series hosted by Gina Bell exposes the comparison trap as it relates to "success" stereotypes and draws attention to how our knee-jerk reaction to compare ourselves to others or to "model success" the wrong way sabotages authenticity and confidence. This is a unique Teleseries in that it’s not just more marketing tips – you really get to hear how we get it done – you get the peek behind the real curtain.

The series also reveals the top five challenges that women in business online commonly face and directs the how does she do it question to these relevant topics with the intention of protecting your authenticity.

I'm proud to be one of 16 successful women who are speaking up to reveal our own experiences with comparison as well as my real life stories for how I manage my mindset and energy behind the scenes. Our goal is to provide valuable insight, share lessons learned and inspire you to take YOUR next steps all from a caring and supportive approach that ensures your authenticity. Click here to sign up

What Business Are You Really In? The Energy Management Business

Ever get a great idea, and then you are flying high with inspiration and possibilities? You outline your idea, you mind map it, you buy books on the subject, you easily draft up copy for an email campaign... you take a few steps, and then you share it with a few people close to you and... Bam! You hear "How will you do that?" "I don’t get it..." "Someone else I know has done something similar..."

Next thing you know, your inspired actions have turned to staring at the computer and aimlessly reading tweets.

Then your own psyche joins in the game and pipes up. "You’ve never done anything like that. What makes you think you can do it? Last time you tried a campaign, you didn’t get very many people signing up. Your message isn’t clear enough. Your list isn’t big enough..." Not enough, not enough, not enough...

You’ve popped out of the flow.

Hmm... time to go get a snack from the kitchen (I never realized my love for poptarts!). I MUST wash all the towels in the house (it must be done NOW). Or I’ve just got to clean out that silverware drawer (where did all these crumbs come from?).

All this talk - the inner and the outer chatter - slam us to a halt because it’s colluding with our deep inner beliefs, those repetitive thoughts that have dug such a groove inside of us that they drive the train, and we may not even realize it.

Stopping this chatter, shifting our thoughts, and creating new beliefs are what our work as an entrepreneur, as the owner of our business, is really about. When we can do that consciously and consistently, then we can DO anything in our business!

The first step is always awareness.

You have to be aware of the chatter that is self-limiting and pulls you down. The easiest way to create awareness is by paying attention to the signals your body gives you such as:

    * tightening shoulders, throat, stomach, heart area
    * clenched teeth and/or jaw
    * headache
    * upset stomach
    * fuzzy brain

The feelings that go with those body symptoms are:

    * irritability
    * frustration
    * confusion
    * feeling of yearning
    * anger
    * sadness
    * depression

These are signs you need to:

1. Let go
2. Shift
3. Choose life-enhancing thoughts again

It’s hard to choose a new thought in the moment of these intense, constricted feelings which I call the "grip.”

First you need to let go and shift.

Let go by:

    * drinking water
    * breathing
    * listening to a meditation CD or meditating with another method
    * going for a walk
    * working out
    * consciously choosing to do a new activity like sort the laundry or clean the silverware drawer

Once you shift the “grip,” then you can think a little clearer and choose to shift your thoughts to ones that are more life-enhancing. (More on that in a future article.)

For starters, practice noticing the signs in your body of being “in the flow” or being “out of the flow."

Then choose to shift.
