Goldilocks Your Marketing

Once upon a time there was a little girl named Goldilocks, and she was searching for just the right form of marketing. One day as she was walking through Internet Woods, she came across a lovely looking cottage. "Hmmm," she thought, "maybe I'll find my marketing secrets in there."

So into the cottage she went, and there were three chairs. Goldilocks immediately went to the first one, a big, hard-backed straight chair. She tried it out, but it was too hard, too masculine, too smarmy. Goldilocks grimaced. "Yuck. This chair doesn't feel right. It's too hard, and I feel like I'm shoving my products down my customers' throats!"

She went to the next chair, a nice, soft easy chair. While it was comfortable, Goldilocks realized she had sunk so low into the chair that she wasn't doing any marketing at all. She made another face. "This chair doesn't feel right. It's too soft, and I'm not doing any marketing."

Hoping against hope, Goldilocks went to the next chair. It didn't look too hard or too soft. It LOOKED just right, but would it be? Goldilocks held her breath, closed her eyes, and sat in the chair. All of the sudden, things clicked into place. She was marketing from her deep, authentic self, and it was easy, creative, and fun. She breathed a sigh of relief. "This chair is just right!"

Friday Joy Infusion: How My Art Journaling Hobby Increases My Business

One thing you may not know about me (or maybe you do, especially if you own my Joyful Business Guide) is that I love to do art journaling. There's something about the pictures, markers, glue, words…. that allows me to express my true self, let ideas flow, and opens the floodgate to creativity.

And that creativity, in turn, impacts my business. All the sudden, ideas and details for projects, articles and programs come tumbling out, and I almost can’t capture them all. (Thank goddess for mindmaps!)

So, you can imagine how excited I was when I came across this video. While it's an advertisement for their super-quick collage journal and products (which do look cool, I have to admit), you could easily do this with whatever you have around.

(And if you want to buy products, K&Company Smash Collection – their website is a little hard to navigate – evidently, there are a ton of subcompanies, so I tried to make it easy for you.)
