Never be stuck about what to write in your blog or for an article! I love this fun infographic from Copyblogger - one of my favorite sites for creating content! You know I love to create content but even I need new inspiration.
Enjoy these 22 ideas for writing about your expertise! Most of all - Have fun with it!
I really hate this one!
You know what I mean: that one project, email, phone call or whatever is blocking your way or feels hard to do. I don’t know many people who can start from a cold stop and attack.
This productivity "rule" SO doesn’t work for me!
I’ve learned that my natural style…is to Eat a Few Mosquitos First.
Some yummy food to get going. I do a few easy tasks. I get some small successes and build what I call my Flowmentum™ - THEN I go for the big frog of a project! It’s so much easier to build upon the energy of your successes.
The key is to not lose your focus and never get to the tough work.
I try to do ONE Frog project a day. First I build my Flowmentum™ and then I’m ready for the hard step.
It feels so good to be successful!
P.S. The frog metaphor was for illustrative purposes only. No frogs were injured in the writing of this blog post nor were my intentions to offend any frogs or frog-lovers. (I’m a long time fan of Kermit!) This is a photo of a beautiful green frog at my parents house.... And…the metaphor works for creative productivity tips!
Lets play with our phone camera and street photography?
I'll share something I've learned personally about taking leaps in your business. If you really want a big shift...you can't keep doing the same thing over and over again. It's not about "do more" harder and faster.
The truth us you have to change it up. Do something different. Be willing to rock your refined schedule, ditch the urgent emergency only actions. Youve got to Take time for you...to grow personally.
Because when YOU leap....your business leaps.(and so does your personal life but I know you probably have to justify this personal creative growth I'm calling you to by making it all about your biz!)
When you open up your creativity within yourself it gets translated in all sorts of ways into your business...more confidence, practicing that muscle of being courageous, creating from the heart, opening up your vulnerability in new exciting ways which are scary and yet make you more accessible and relatable to your clients, readers and fans.
That's why I'm starting off this year with more emphasis on my own creative growth rather than just focusing on business how-tos. (Those are important, but we're talking about how to grow by leaps and bounds).
I want to share a cool creative program I'm going to be a part of. It's called the Photo Essay Project. It's led by Bindu Wiles who is helping me open up my deeper creative reserves in many ways. In this program we are going to take photos with our iPhones and droid mobiles of people around us. Reminescent of street photography we used to see in LIFE magazine. It's part about the creative process but what I'm learning about Bindu it's really about finding mirrors of ourselves within others.
I'll share that for me it sounds like fun and yet I'm scared. Its vulnerable to bring your creative mess, er, process to a group...and yet I know it's a valuable part of being able to break down my own barriers for a deeper sense of connection...with others, myself and the creative spirit.
What I know is that my growth will show up for you too. It'll help me access a deeper wisdom and creative wellspring to be more of service in my life and through my business.
Want to join me for a creative escapade in street photography? I'd love to share about our creative journey..you can check out Bindu's program and let's see where our courageous leaps take us!
You may have noticed that I write... a lot. There are weekly Friday Joy Infusions, articles, inspirational blog posts, emails about cool things my colleagues are doing, sales pages, campaign emails... And that's just what YOU see. What you don't see me writing are books, future blog posts, program materials, responses to private emails, and the like.
It might look easy. It might look as if words are pouring out of me. You might like what you read – and feel like it really resonates with you.
How do I do that? How do I write what I write so that you actually read it, resonate with it, and want more by taking action? Either by answering a question, clicking on a link to find out more, to buy a product, or even saying yes to flying in for a retreat?
It's because I write from my soul.
I tap into what my audience (that's you) needs and wants to hear. And I want to be authentic doing it.
It's not as easy as it looks. You can’t just flip a switch or load an app to write from your soul! (Cool idea though!)
I couldn't do it the way I do without the guidance of Dawn Goldberg and her Writing From Your Soul process. Yes, as you may know, she's my business manager, but she's been working with language and the writing process all her life. Together, we use her Writing From Your Soul process to write all the amazing stuff that runs my business.
Yes…you can write from your soul IN your business. It’s not just for fiction books, poems and self-help books!
Writing from Your Soul in your business will help you connect at a genuine, deep, rich place with your clients, and you’ll feel proud to share your business with the world!
I so believe in the work she is up to that I wanted to share Dawn’s Writing From Your Soul private packages with you! As you can imagine, she only has a limited number of spots available to work privately with her.
I love her tagline: Be Bold, Be Brazen, Be YOU! So, if you want to bring more YOU in your business writing, make more of an impact, write compelling marketing material, Write From Your Soul with Dawn.
You can check it out here and sign for your own private session Write From Your Soul – and see what that does for your business!
I can’t wait to see what you are up too!
As you’ve noticed, telesummits are all the rage, and you might be thinking about how you could host one in the upcoming year.
You’ve also undoubtedly noticed that there's a great way to do them, and a not-so-great way to do them.
My good friend and southern belle companion, Ellen Britt from MarketingQi, has led over 11 telesummits – all very successful, creative and very collaborative!
As part of Ellen’s mastermind group, I and the rest of the group have convinced Ellen that she is so great at this that she MUST put together a short program for our clients for how to lead successful telesummits.
So if you'd like to learn to create your own telesummit, make it authentically reflect your brand, help you build your list, AND be a unique experience that your tribe will WANT To attend, see what Ellen has to say...
(Literally, see what she has to say - she records these great videos - in her car, no less. If nothing else, you'll have fun listening to her lovely southern accent. Plus, she has more experience putting on telesummits than anyone else!)
Plus, you'll get her top three secrets on telesummits!
And to just go straight to the meat, register for Ellen's 4-part Live Telesummit Training Course, Telesummit Success Secrets starting November 22nd, at http://www.marketingqi.com/laura and use coupon code ORANGE to save $100.
Here's to a great telesummit!
I never fail to be inspired by Oprah and Ali Brown.
Oprah talks to us as women, encouraging us to find our calling, to follow our joy, and to live the life we are meant to live!
Ali Brown (I just got back from her powerful Shine Event in Dallas, Texas!) encourages us to embrace that we are women of influence. It's by simply following our calling, truly reveling in our joy and shining our light in our businesses and our lives that we influence others. From our children, to our husbands, to our friends, to our clients and beyond.
These messages so speak to me.
I have been on a mission since I was a teenager to honor our feminine energy and strengths. It may have looked like I moved away from that calling in my corporate days when the masculine qualities of logic, focus and quick decisions were revered. One of the gifts of those days was that I left corporate knowing there HAD to be a way to include joy in business.
I knew in my soul that what lights us up, that work we are put here to do and is ready to move through us, is powerful. By accepting our own creative power, we will change lives. We are women of influence.
Or, to say it another way, we are the ones we have been waiting for.
If this message lights up your heart and touches a place in you that is yearning to get out…aching to show up bigger and brighter… then I invite you join me and a small group of other creative women entrepreneurs who are ready to play their bigger game.
The thing is (I know this from experience) that we can't always do this alone. It's hard to see what's getting in your own way. So during the Business Goddess Bigger Game event, these two days will help you identify where your creative power lies and what is blocking it.
You can read all the details here… it's coming up quick (November 15 and 16)… I'm leading a small group coaching intensive in Atlanta, GA.
If you are ready to put your work into the world in a bigger way and want some support in igniting your creative power, then this will be the perfect place for you.
Read on… and be sure to register by Wednesday when I close out registration for this event.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me back (just hit reply - it's that easy!) and ask!
I look forward to hearing more about what you are being called to put out into the world!
