Are You On My Sticky Note?

In my home office, affectionately known as the Joyful Empire Creative
Studio, I set up a special inspiring area in the studio.  It's in the
corner of my office/studio, which in the Feng Shui world, is known as
my Wealth & Prosperity corner. My Friend, Evana Maggiore
came to visit a month ago and pointed out
that my Wealth and Prosperity corner was empty.

Well, I don't know much about the bagua map but I do know
about my energy and I knew that I couldn't have the Wealth &
Prosperity area of my office empty!  I shared this philosophy with my
husband, Marc, and he was on board - we needed to create an inspiring
corner for even more prosperity, abundance and wealth to flow!

He found this cute little chest which he knew I'd love the flow of the
rounded front. For my birthday, my sons gave me a beautiful water
feature so now I have "flow" in the wealth & prosperity area - love
the feeling of that!

I added a special gorgeous topaz crystal, a crystal red heart, and an Ogg
light (which I bought from Cheryl Richardson's site) (friend and client,
Chris Baeza shared that shining a light on an area helps you to bring your
awareness to it..thank you)
.  My Ogg light changes colors in a gentle
pattern (more visual flow) and then I added a birthday gift from my
client, Laurie Mandato, from Imagining Joy.  She sent me a
gorgeous silver "Circle of Friends" candle holder.  It reminds me of my
abundance of loving family and friends.

I make it a ritual to visit my beautiful corner each morning and turn
on the water and the lights.  It fills me with a sense of peace,
purpose, beauty and reminds me that it's wonderful to be focused on
wealthy & prosperity helping my amazing clients attract more wealth &
prosperity into their business.

This week I added a new feature to my inspiring space.  On the wall I
placed a large piece of paper for my new Attraction Marketing and
Money Mindset Program (AMMMP)
.  The is a year long program for 24
amazing creative women entrepreneurs.  I put up 24 tulip shaped sticky
notes as a "spaceholder" for each of the incredible women who are
coming into this program.

Every morning I connect with the 24 women who are coming and feel
excited and inspired about what is possible for them in the coming
year.  I even started writing names on the tulips claiming individual
people I know who would flourish in this program.  I imagine what it
will be like for them. How excited they are in their business and what
possibilities await them.

This process helps involve my whole self in my big intention for this
program.  It's a very visually sensory experience and helps me to
connect with my purpose each morning. Plus, it  really  gets my energy
going for letting people know about the program!  (that's how we do
marketing here at the Center for Joyful Business!)

So, is your name on one of my sticky notes? :)

Go easy

I needed to read this excerpt this week so I'm going to assume you might relate to it to...

Go easy. You may have to push forward, but you don't have to push so hard. Go in gentleness, go in peace.Sunrisetrees

Do not be in so much of a hurry. At no day, no hour, no time are you required to do more than you can do in peace. Frantic behaviors and urgency are not the foundation for our new way of life.

Do not be in such a hurry to begin. Begin, but do not force the beginning if it is not time. Beginnings will arrive soon enough.

Enjoy and relish the middles, the heart of the matter.

Do not be in too much of a hurry to finish. You may almost be done, but enjoy the final moments. Give yourself fully to those moments so that you may give and get all there is.

Let the pace flow naturally. Move forward. Start. Keep moving forward. Do it gently, though. Do it in peace. Cherish each moment.

Choosing Wisdom

Wisdom's Choice

"You can choose the Wisdom and Guidance from God (within) and have joy in your life, or you can choose knowledge from man, which leads to frustration, and sometimes chaos (pain). Your life is intended to align with Perfection. It is a simple but profound decision, and only you can choose."

From Wisdom's Choice by Kathryn Adams Shapiro

It's a wonderful little book. I read one of the short chapters each morning to set my day off in the right direction.

It just takes a few minutes in the morning to focus your mind and set the intention for the day. A simple process and yet it takes consciousness - awareness - and commitment. Oh, yeah, and putting your books, quotes and sticky notes in obvious places where you know you will be on a routine basis - like the bathroom!! :)

Enjoy,

Laura

Church Sign Wisdom

"Carve your name on Hearts not Marble"    Heart_and_people_drawing_2

Today's wisdom was found on a church sign.  We have a church on just about every corner here in Atlanta, GA.  I love driving by and getting a dose of wise words to carry with me to the next corner!  Today's message lasted longer than the next street so I thought I'd share.

Access to Wisdom

I was just sitting on my deck tonight, it’s dusk, just starting to get dark and my little white lights on the railing popped on just as I read this paragraph in a book called Presence by Peter Senge, Joseph Jaworski, and company...:

Leaf_close_up "….linked ...to a different way in which action arises," through a process he called a “different sort of knowing.” “You observe and observe and let this experience well up into something appropriate.  In a sense, there’s no decisionmaking,” he said.  “What to do just becomes obvious.  You can’t rush it.  Much of it depends on where you’re coming from and who you are as a person.  All you can do is position yourself according to your unfolding vision of what is coming.  A totally different set of rules applies.  You need to “feel out” what to do.  You hang back, you observe.  You’re more like a surfer or a really good race car driver.  You don’t’ act out of deduction, you act out of an inner feel, making sense as you go.  You’re not even thinking.  You’re at one with the situation."

When you really embrace the principles of attraction and practices of mindfulness....this is the sweet place you find yourself. It's a new way of being for most of us.To go slow. To cultivate space in our lives and businesses to reflect, to step back and see the whole vs. the problems.

This is the place where "easy, natural & fun" comes from.

Warmly,

Laura

Silence Speaks

"You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover is yourself."

--Alan Alda

This quote so resonated with me when I read it this morning. This is where my journey has taken me. To myself. Trusting myself. Stopping long enough to hear my intuition and to also pay attention Tree and honor it.

It's not always easy. It's certainly has not been a life long habit - quite the opposite. The typical inner voice in my life's journey has sounded more like..."Hurry and make the decision. What are you waiting for?"

I've realized that I'm waiting to hear and to feel... for the message that my soul wants to send to me.

How powerful it is when I stop and listen.

The more I create opportunities to stop and listen and to stop and feel the more grounded and clear I am.

One night a good friend of mine saw a book I was reading, "Stillness Speaks" by Eckhart Tolle.  She said, "Oh, that sounds like a really exciting read!". I knew she was kidding me and yet for a moment I felt a pang....I heard my inner critic saying..."You are soooo not exciting! You are reading a book about silence. How fascinating is that?"

And I read anyway. About silence.

What I know is that stillness speaks volumes if only we will stop long enough to listen.

It's the path to greater and deeper contentment and inner joy. I have my most spiritual feeling of connection when I am in a place of silence.

In this busy, stressed out, Living -with -Urgency every minute world, we all need some luscious, guilt-free, quiet time- if for no other reason than to hear what our heart is trying to tell us. (Which would probably sound something like, "If you don't slow down, I'm going to give you something to slow down about!")

I remember when my oldest son was a toddler and I would send him to a corner for time out when he did some behavior I didn't agree with. I decided I didn't like this as it felt very shameful.  So, I set up a small rug in front of a bookcase in the spare room. In the bookcase I put things like a picture of our family, the cat, spiritual children's books, and things like little birds with nests and minature eggs. When time out would occur, I started sending him there to reflect on his behavior and what he might have chosen differently.  And, hopefully be inspired in the silence. I think I was hoping he would get used to silence and realize that he could step into silence and reflection throughout his life. Once I moved to a new home, I got away from that practice....I think it's time to set up a new Silent Inspiration place....it sure sounds better than threatening to take away Nintendo.

Imagine a creative and inspiring space with no Nintendo, computers, cell phones, no beeping of any kind....oh yeah, they call that the backyard.

So go into a backyard, or if you don't have one, find a neighbor's or a public park and as Simon and Garfunkel encouraged us long ago....to listen to the Sounds of Silence.....

The child whispered, ‘God, speak to me’
And a meadow lark sang.
The child did not hear.

So the child yelled, ‘God, speak to me!’
And the thunder rolled across the sky
But the child did not listen.

The child looked around and said,
‘God let me see you’ and a star shone brightly
But the child did not notice

And the child shouted,
‘God show me a miracle!’
And a life was born but the child did not know.

So the child cried out in despair,
‘Touch me God, and let me know you are here!’
Whereupon God reached down
And touched the child.
But the child brushed the butterfly away
And walked away unknowingly.”
