Does This Limiting Belief Resonate With You?

I know this happens for many of you as a heart-centered entrepreneur! Every time I stretch into a new level of growth in my business I have to make sure my own energy is aligned with my authentic marketing efforts or they'll fall flat and I'll get frustrated.

On the call we talked about the 5 Most Common Limiting Beliefs that will have you play small in  your marketing.  They get a hold of you and you ...don't make the call, hesitate on standing out and being different, and stay in confusion - this limits your results - i.e. low visibility, few clients and not nearly enough income!

Are You Dressing with Intention?

A good friend of mine, Evana Maggiore, author of Fashion Feng Shui, talks about women entrepreneurs dressing with intention.  She suggests that you need to know your  "essential energy" - your authentic natural style - and then identify what is your "intentional energy" - what is the intention you want to communicate, .

This came to mind recently when it snowed in Atlanta. Yes snowed - for ONE whole day we made snowmen!  I was all snuggled inside reading my People magazine -oops! Yes, I confess I really enjoy my "who's who" and "who's wearing what!"  I was reading the issue with Michelle Obama and it struck me that while most of the country was having a winter snow storm there she was on the cover in a beautiful pink summer-like dress. Isn't it still winter in Washington, I thought?   We're talking "no-sleeves"  tank style. (I know you men are like...what is the relevant point here? Bear with me...) 

It really struck me that she was setting "intentional energy"...she was dressing for spring and summer...lighter times.....the time of hope, renewal, new possibilities and enjoyment!  I have no doubt that this was very intentional on her part or the Obama marketing department - can you just hear them chatting about this? "What should Michelle wear for her cover photo to set the message of hope and prosperity? Oh, you know they have this conversation!")

It's really smart marketing if you ask me. I felt it. I wanted it to be spring and all that magical possibility energy that goes with it.

Are you an Intelligent Optimist?

I love this month's cover story in Ode magazine, "In Praise of Intelligent Optimists".  So much better of a name than being called "pollyanna", don't you think! This article really speaks to us as small business owners and in particular our entrepreneurial energy and skills.

The feature article talks about how the world has fallen into a dark state...as well all hear constantly and see results daily...and yet it's times like this when we need optimism.  It's easy to be an optimist when things are going fine but it's a real mark of character when you can be optimistic during tough times.

More from the article: "Optimism isn't about denying reality; it's about creating a better reality than you're facing...The Intelligent Optimist knows a half-empty glass is also half full. And she knows more can be gained by focusing on what she has than by focusing on what she's missing. You learn to become optimistic by concentrating on things that give you a sense of satisfaction and you remain an optimist by feeding those things to make them grow.   Intelligent Optimists know that for every problem there is (at least the beginning of) a solution andd that the search for that solution can be inspirational in itself."

Ode goes on highlight their first ever list of 25 Intelligent Optimists featuring individuals around the world who are doing their best to bring positive change to their communities, their countries and the world.

What I get about this view is that optimism is a choice.  It's not about denying reality - in fact, there is power in being able to confront the real issues of what's going on around the world or even in your own bank account.  What I see is that my clients are paying even more attention to their business.  This is when your entrepreneurial creativity really gets fired up.  You look for ways to create solutions - you hae to be more ingenius when the flow of abundance shifts. (notice I didn't say dried up...it hasn't dried up...just shifted) 

This is a time to listen to your business - what is it telling you? It will point to places that are broken and need your attention. It will whisper areas of abundance just waiting to be picked.  Really hear your clients and customers - they will tell you what they want now in their circumstances...sometimes they want more access to you, sometimes they want it packaged differently...listen.....you will see it, hear it, feel it...the solutions are right in front of you.

You do have to slow down to hear the whispers.....

What do we have in common with Oprah? Our love and belief in Vision Boards!

Yesterday I spent the day with two amazing coaches. They are colleagues and dear friends. We got together, along with my husband, Marc, for a day of creating vision boards representing our businesses, lives and the dreams we are stepping into.

Not only did we create amazing and uniquely different boards, but Marc also videotaped the process for my first video about "Creating Vision Boards to Manifest Anything in Your Business." Fun and practical!

It was a very powerful day! Here's a picture of me, Beverly of Embrace Your Gifts and Soar, and Beth from Aligned Leadership, taking a break and having lunch in the warm sun in between ripping out pictures, cutting and pasting.

As you can see from below these Vision Boards are creative, alive and engaging! They are also very magical. Once you have something - a project, a client, a business dream, a way of being in the world - once it's on your Vision Board you've begun the attraction energy for drawing it to you.

I know how powerful it is to create a Vision Board for your dream.  It brings it to life!  Gives it energy!  Especially when you look at it each day, claim it, talk to it and share it with others.  In fact, Oprah believes in the power of Vision Boards too. Check out her spontaneous call in to a Chicago radio show on election day.  After about 5 minutes of the interview she says that she created a Vision Board for Obama becoming president - complete with the picture of the dress she will wear to the inaugural ball!

Energy's Up! and New Teleseminar info...

This morning I was on a call with one of my mastermind groups, and it was my turn to get some coaching.  I started talking about my upcoming teleseminar and the launch of my new year long program....this is the biggest program I've ever launched and as I was talking it was obvious that I was "ready".  My energy was clearly aligned toward the exciement of the programs, the possibilities for the amazing creative entreprenuers who are going to join me and the power of our work together.

All my masternind members had to do was to help me grow my "aligned energy" bigger...we tapped into the "why" I'm doing this program.  My whys are....
